We welcome in the new year with a great new release from Heaven42 called "Heart To Heart". This new song was written by none other than Mirko Hirsch who also makes a vocal appearance on the record! This new mid-tempo piece should satisfy all fans of classic and 'new generation' Italo Disco with the driving basslines, busy keyboard melodies (a.k.a. hooks) and beautifully constructed vocals that create memorable verses and a chorus that will stick in your head. The single mix and Extended mix both on the A-side are quite similar in feel. Both have male and female sharing vocal duties on the verses and joint on the chorus. There is a surprise guitar melody that comes after the 2nd verse during the bridge giving us a brief rock feel, but never distracting from the Italo Disco mood. The B-side version featuring Mirko Hirsch on the vocals is only slightly different with the vocal change and a number of his vocal touches to make it his own, and perhaps some minor keyboard adjustments which are barely noticeable. The surprise, or interesting track, is the Bright Mix which has a different feel altogether from the other mixes but keeping the vocals unchanged throughout. The Bright Mix can easily be called the most accessible with apparent intro and more sparse keyboards at the beginning. The keyboard hooks are not the same (yet more busy) and more subtle but no less enticing and still extremely effective for this song and mix. That may have sounded a bit odd, but I think it's just because the keyboards are doing the work of a rhythm section on this mix. The mix is still driven along with the bassline, but with a great assist from additional keyboards/secondary melodies which compliment this version very nicely. The Bright Mix also loses the guitar riff which is present in all other versions. With these names attached (Mirko Hirsch, Heaven42) this record will move along quickly! Don't take too long to swipe this record up!
